A comedic exploration combining “happy” electronic pop sounds with harsh argumentative dialogue taken from Noah Baumbach’s film “Marriage Story”. I was curious how these two opposing aesthetics could unite to create a new conflicting, yet somehow harmonizing, environment.
All sounds recorded on my phone to create a low budget homey feeling, as if you're stuck inside on a rainy day.
Mixing field recordings, bass and acoustic guitar, and harmonica with audio effects.
Haunting piano and electronic trickling sounds work to create a dreadful, spine-tingling feeling, as if you have just woken up from a nightmare but parts of your dream are bleeding through into your day.
Composed solely on Ableton Live, using heavy automation and audio effects.
Inspired by Mark Mothersbaugh’s sound design in Wes Anderson’s “The Life Aquatic” as well as video-game score aesthetics.
Composed with the MOOG Etherwave Theremin Plus and the Roland TR-08 Drum Machine. All sounds are produced by hardware and no audio effects were used.
Although not compositionally coherent, this was an experimentation with recording hardware in a live environment.
The repeating electronic rhythms creating a type of chaotic and overwhelming feeling.
One of my earliest sound projects. First time combining audio recordings with Ableton Live instruments.
Introduction to the “Broad City Rewatch Podcast”, a podcast not yet a reality but a passion project of my roommates.
Sound design inspired by the “Broad City” TV show intro, which references genres such as cumbria, salsa, electronic music, and hip-hop. Sounds composed on Ableton Live and vocal excerpts from the podcast were integrated to highlight the casual and funny tone of the show.
This piece combines several layered instruments to create a curious and playful but also mysterious and eerie vibe, as if you are a child finding a place to hide.
Composed of audio recordings from several instruments and Ableton Live audio effects.
Another early sound project where I became interested in integrating vocal samples from other artists.
